The Original Unruly Mystic

St Hildegard von Bingen was a German Benedictine abbess, writer, healer, herbalist, Christian mystic, visionary, philosopher and polymath during  the 12th Century.

She has been given much notoriety in both her time and the present day for the remarkable life she lead and her imprint upon humanity. Known as both “Sybil of the Rhine” and the “Unruly Mystic”, she transcended the limitations of her gender during the Middle Ages to alter the events of her own time and imprint her personality on the future.

one of the most talented and original women of any era

She began experiencing visions from God at the age of 5 up until her death at the age of 82; has authored numerous books, medical doctrines, plays, poetry and song about body, mind and spiritual health, herbalism to name just a couple; and won notoriety with both the church Diocese, politics and humanity internationally.

Her ability to stand her ground in her convictions supporting her visions of Divinity in an era when women (much less, nuns) were able to share their voice and be heard. She was bold for her time thus giving rise to the name of  “Unruly Mystic”. St Hildegard had the ability to penetrate societal structures of Kings, noblemen, the church and the commoner alike. Her work was highly respected and revered as she was one of the most talented and original women of any era.

Full Circle Wellness

It is through the works and teachings of St Hildegard von Bingen that I have structured much of my own personal life, work in herbalism, spiritual health, wellness, and healing.

My goal is to help guide patrons to a better life, with a better connection between their mind, body, and spirit. The focus of herbalism is to address the health and wellness of the whole person systematically rather than use temporary solutions to permanent problems.

An herbalist is not a medical Doctor so it is always recommended that you seek a consultation with your medical professional first before embarking upon herbal solutions. Herbalism and Western medicine need not be seperate. They can work beautifully in tandem if this is what is best for you.
